What are some of the skills you need to qualify for a coaching job?

They say that some people are meant to play the game, while others are meant to teach the game; as a baseball coach, first hand experience playing the game will help you to determine the effectiveness of the techniques you pass on to your team. Try and remember all the coaches you have ever seen training their teams; you probably remember that they commanded the respect of their teams, they were authoritative and they knew what it takes to achieve successful hits.

These are a few of the qualities that you should have when applying for a baseball coach job. The work of a baseball coach is to essentially guide, motivate and lead a team to victory. You can pick on some of these skills as you go along, but qualities such as communication and strategic thinking can be re-enforced through practice. Before applying for a baseball coach job, try training a group of kids to test the effectiveness of your skills.
