Attention coaches. Due to our limited staffing we are not able to offer support to questions from parents and/or players. All questions will be gladly answered from coaches and general managers only. Please distribute this Frequently Asked questions page to your parents as this more than covers most of the commonly asked questions we receive.

How do I sign up?

Please download the application file here and follow the simple instructions on it. It’s two pages. Click here to download and register your team now.

How much is the tournament fee?

The tournament fee is $595.

In order to compete in the tournament, all tournament fees must be paid in full at least seven days in advance of the tournament start date.  Tournament fees paid after the deadline will be accepted on a case by case basis. 

Is the tournament fee refundable? How do I cancel?

The tournament fee is non-refundable, non-transferable within 14 days of the start date of each tournament. You may cancel however there will not be a refund on any fees paid. We have several expenses that we must pay for in advance when it comes to putting on the tournament. All schedules must be created, communicated and proper cooridation between umpires, the fields grounds crews, teams and tournament directors. 

Do you offer any discounts for early registration?

Not at this time.

What is the expected dress code for players and coaches?

It is expected that the baseball players and coaches dress in a professional manner. Baseball cleats are expected.

Who is allowed in the dug out?

Baseball players, up to three coaches and any general manager or owner of the team are the only people permitted in the dugout. Each person who is to be in the dug out must already be pre-registered and submitted to the Tournament Director(s).

Who provides the baseballs?

The tournament will provide the game baseballs for every game. It is each team’s responsibility to provide their own practice balls. Three new balls will be provided for each game by the tournament.

What do you do if it rains?

We will reschedule the game.

Is there a time limit?

There will be a time limit of 2 hours and 30 minutes for games. The grounds crew need to prep each field before each game and this takes a minimum of 20-30 minutes. 

How many umpires are there for each game?

There will be two umpires per game. A home plate umpire and a field umpire. Each of these umpires is certified and well trained professional.

When and where can we follow the tournament wins and loses?

The tournament brackets will be updated on this website as scores are reported and also there will be on site score boards detailing the progress of the tournament. 

What is the format for the tournament?

The tournament is a four  game minimum guarantee. Round robin play. Double elimination.

How far in advance do we get our team brackets and schedules?

Each night the website will be updated. This is how game time and field locations will be communicated.

What is the last day to register for the tournament?

The absolute last day to register is 14 days before the start of the tournament.

What are the gate fees?

Gate fees will be $2 per person at each field. Baseball players and coaches listed on the official team roster are exempt. Gate fees are charged to help off set the cost of the tournament. There are several expenses that add up very quickly, especially field fees. This helps to bring the best levels of service possible including brand new baseballs at each game, professionally groomed fields before each game and also helps offset the cost of sending the winner for each age division to the national championship. The national championship has a $1000 tournament fee which is covered by the Tournament Director. 

What restrictions does my team need to be aware of ahead of time?

No alcohol or tobacco is permitted on any city grounds. 

How many games are we guaranteed at a minimum?

You will be guaranteed a minimum of four games.

How many games can we realistically play in a tournament?

We cannot predict how well your team will do in the tournament. This is entirely up to the players. A lot of this has to do with self confidence, mental preparation and attitude. You will be guaranteed a minimum of five games for each team. If you were to go all the way to the championship round, you may end up playing up to eight or nine games.

How many teams will be competing?

Each tournament will host up to the maximum of 16 teams. Registration begins early and space is limited. After that you can be put onto a waiting list if a team were to cancel.

Do you do Round Robin? 

Yes.

Is there double elimination?

This is double elimination tournament.

If I am knocked out of the tournament, what do I do?

If you are eliminated early from the tournament, Tri-Cities offers a wide variety of activities that are safe for all ages.

Do we need to have original birth certificates or can we use copies?

Original birth certificates and copies are accepted as proof of age.

Where do the teams come from mostly?

The teams come from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana primarly. There is not any one particular area where more teams are drawn from.

Where do I go to get insurance? Is team insurance required?

You will need to provide insurance for your entire team that covers accidental and medical. This needs to cover all players, coaches, general managers, and any “bat boys” you may have in the dug out. TopBaseball Tournaments.com needs to be added as an “additional insured” on the certificate holder. This does not mean we are trying to be added to your policy. This is only added to the standard certificate of liability form.

Do players get a tournament t-shirt?

T-shirts will be awarded to each winning team of their respective age division. 

Will concessions be available?

Yes each baseball park facility will have on site concessions running.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes, we just ask that you please pick up after yourself.

What about restaurants?

Yes, Tri-Cities offers a wide variety of restaurants. Just do a simple Google search to find one that is convenient and that sounds delicious to you and your team and family.

Can we bring pets to the tournament facilities?

Please leave pets at home. We do not own the facilities so please respect the park rules. *Please note animals assisting those with disabilities are of course welcomed.

How early should we arrive?

It is recommended that you arrive one day in advance so your team shows up promptly on time for the first game. Travel time completely depends upon where you are coming from and how you are getting here.
